How Membership Works

What Can You Expect as a Member?

  • You-choose: We do not follow a traditional CSA (Consumer Supported Agriculture) format where you get a box of farmer-selected vegetables. Instead we offer a “you-choose” format allowing you to select the items that best suit your needs. Take advantage of this! Let us know if you would like us to add a special variety or if you need something extra during one week. We operate on a credit system. When you become a share member you buy a share of what we produce throughout the season. The money for your share becomes a credit allowing you to purchase the vegetables we are growing. We do not provide our members with a pre-packed box of farmer selected vegetables. Instead we allow our members to select the vegetables that best suit their needs every week.

  • Widest and earliest selection of fresh vegetables: We want you to always have the largest selection of veggies we have available. We have included a chart for when items are usually available and please remember we always have a selection of limited items behind the table to make sure we don’t sell out before you arrive.

  • Plant Starts: If you like to do some of your own growing, we can supply you with most of your plant starts. We offer lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, herbs, squash, cucumbers, onions, greens, tomatoes and peppers. You can use your membership credits to purchase plant starts. Of course we are also happy to do the growing for you.

  • Free Vegetables: Paying for your farm share in advance gives you additional money to spend on your fresh vegetable share. Members paying before February 1st receive a 20% add-on. Members paying on February 1st or later receive a 10% add-on. For example, if you buy a $350.00 membership before February 1st we will add $70 giving you $420.00 to spend throughout the season. This does not apply to eggs, meat, frozen or processed items.

  • Delivery: Our farm operates year round. We often have eggs, greens, storage items, frozen items, canned items and meat available when the markets are not in operation. We make it a point to deliver these items to our members every two weeks during the off season.

  • Chemical Free Vegetables: We don’t use any insecticides, herbicides, or fungicides even if they are considered “organic.” We do occasionally use an organic fertilizer, but have been shifting more toward using our own compost and clippings from our mowed field as fertilizer. By only using what we produce we know everything we are applying to our soils. Your health and the health of our farm is very important to us.

  • Access to the farm: We love this place and are working to create a space we hope you will love as well. As a member we feel you are a part of our farm and family and we encourage you to come out and tour the farm, check out our farm store and see our practices. Just remember, if you stay more than 15 minutes you better bring gloves. We always need help weeding.

  • Input on what we grow and produce: As a small farm we want to use our space as efficiently as possible. By knowing what you want and don’t want we can design our farm to meet the specific needs of our members.

  • Invites to our farm events: This year we will be hosting our fifth annual apple cider press party in early October. We hope to see you there to sample and take home our fresh apple cider!
