Greetings all!
We are a week away from the markets kicking off for the year. Jose and I are looking forward to the rhythm they provide to our weekly routine. For this week though, we are just trying to stay focused and get everything done! This past weekend we planted an additional 57 fruit trees on the farm. This included peaches, plums, pears, sweet cherries, and a few more apples. We still have a few paw paws, lingonberries, raspberries, grapes and the strawberries left to plant. In the vegetable beds we added peas, carrots, beans, and arugula.
Things have been very busy in the greenhouse. We have potted-up all of our peppers and tomatoes. Now the wait begins for the weather to be warm enough for planting. We also have most of our starts ready for the first weeks of market. There will be plenty for you to plant at home if you are like us and love to garden.
Our membership is continuing to grow and we still have a few openings for the 2024 season. Please keep your ears open for anyone who may be looking for fresh vegetables and fruits this summer.
Throughout the growing season, we will be at the Munising Farmers' and Artisans' Market on Mondays from 4 - 7 pm and the Downtown Marquette Farmers Market on Saturdays from 9 am - 1 pm.

Jose's Picture of the Week:
Jose caught this beautiful image of a newly emerged bumble bee feeding on a dandelion.

Recipe of the week:
We still have onions in the root cellar and these chilly nights continue to call for comfort food. One thing we love is onion gravy and this recipe goes great over almost everything.
Give this one a try and if you need a few onions just let us know.
Until next week - maximize life!!
